How to Use
Available in forms of tablets, chewable tablets and oral granules
for oral consumption. For patients taking the oral granule form of
this medicine can take this medicine on a full or empty stomach.
Packets of oral granules can either be swallowed whole or mixed with
a spoonful of soft foods such as applesauce, carrots, rice or ice
cream. The oral granules should not be chewed.
Side Effects
Some side effects are possible as with montelukast as with any
other kind of medicine. Consult your doctor, if following symptoms
continually occur:

Weakness or unusual tiredness |
Precautions
Before taking montelukast :
- Inform your doctor about any allergies you are having for any
food or drugs.
- Inform your doctor, if you are pregnant or planning
pregnancy.
- Consult with your doctor, if you are a mother and wish to
breast feed.
- Inform your doctor about any other medicines you may be
taking at the same time.
Over Dose
If you have taken overdose of medicine, immediately consult your
doctor or emergency services.
Missed Dose
If you missed a dose of montelukast, take it as soon as you
remember. However, if it is the time for next dose, skip the missed
dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take double
dose to compensate the missed one.
Storage
Keep this medication tightly closed in the container it came in and
out of reach of children. The medicine must be properly stored at
room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture. Throw away
any medication, which is outdated or no longer required. Talk to
your pharmacist about the proper disposal of your medication.
